So, a few weeks ago, I decided to FINALLY get some Colourpop
Cosmetics makeup. It was my birthday, and I had been wanting to try it out for
a while and I had a coupon! #treatyourself
First of all,
Colourpop is very affordable, $5 for the super shock shadows (eyeshadows), $8
for super shock cheek (blush, bronzer and highlighters), $5 for lippies
(lipsticks and lipliner) and $6 for the ultra matte lip (liquid lipsticks). The
prices are comparable to Covergirl and NYX. Secondly, the makeup is made in LA
and does not test on animals, which I really like.
So most people who review Colourpop on Youtube that I have seen
say the formula is a little different, creamy but applies as a powder. When I
hear that, not going to lie, I was a little confused and worried. Most cream products
that I have used in the past have been most difficult to blend and don't have a
lot of staying power. These are so easy to apply! I use my fingers most of the
time and maybe a blender brush to blend out. Honestly, I think these are easier
to work with than powders, no fallout ever. And last all day long!
I ordered the makeup on Monday, and received the package on
Friday I think, which is not bad!
California to Michigan!
Side note, the packaging was adorable!
And who doesn't love
a handwritten note.
I ended up purchasing the Shaaanxo x Colourpop collaboration
eyeshadow set, three eyeshadows, one highlighter and one lippie stick.
The Shaaanxo set was $20 for four eyeshadows, no savings but
that's fine with me since the eyeshadows are pretty affordable to begin with.
The set included XO, Selfie, Deluxe and Rebel.
The Set
XO
Selfie
Rebel
Deluxe
“XO is perfect for highlighting the inner corner. Rebel is the most amazing Khaki shade It looks gorgeous all over the lid or lower lash line. Deluxe is gorgeous blended all over the lid for a darker bronze smokey eye. Selfie is an amazing transition shade to use in your crease, or all over the lid for a natural sunkissed glow!” – Shaaanxo
Sour is a lime green with a satin finish, perfect for a pop of color on the lower lashes.
Jet is a matte almost black, just a little warmer than black.
Get Lucky is AMAZING, it's pretty much a gold foiled shadow. I'm already obsessed.
The highlight I got is Wisp.
Wisp is a golden champagne highlight. I would say it's the "natural
everyday" version of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. You can just
apply a little bit to the tops of your cheekbones for a subtle glow or pack it
on for a more intense glow.
The lippie stick that I purchased was in the shade Lumière, which is also a collaboration with
Kathleen Lights. The color is a mauvey rose shade, very wearable! It is matte
and lasts for hours!
