Fall Lippies

Since the weather is starting to change, and the first official day of fall was Wednesday, I thought that I would share with you guys some of my favorite fall lippies! Most of them are very affordable and from Ulta. Ulta is always having sales on drugstore brands, usually it's buy one, get the second one half off.

You can't beat that!

The first lippie is a NYX High Voltage Lipstick in the shade Flutter Kiss. It is a cool tone mauvey nude that would match any eye look.

          Flutter Kiss

The next is also a NYX High Voltage Lipstick in the shade Wine & Dine. Such a cute name! This color is a plum shade with a pink undertone. Not SUPER bold, but still can amp up any outfit.

          Wine & Dine

These High Voltage Lipsticks are only $5.99. They aren't super long wearing, but they are very moisturizing. I would wear a lip pencil underneath the lipstick so that the color lasts throughout the day.

This is a Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Outlaw, a brick red. These are a little pricey, $20, however, this will last on your lips ALL DAY! They are my favorite liquid lipsticks I've tried so far. This formula can be quite drying and can bring attention to dry patches so I would recommend using a lip balm to condition your lips prior to using the liquid lipstick. EOS is great because its a drier chapstick, so it won't make the liquid lipstick move around. Just use an oil based make remover wipe to get it off of your lips or it will be on for days.

          Outlaw

Next is a Rimmel Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Colour in the shade Kiss Fatal. This is a plumy purple, a little bit grungy which I am into. It is a two step liquid lipstick, first is the liquid lipstick and the second is a moisturizing lip balm that is supposed to lock in the color all day. This is a lot less drying than the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks and at $6.99, it is much more affordable!

           Kiss Fatal

Lastly is my FAVORITE lippie! This is a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade Black Cherry. The formula is very moisturizing and pretty buildable with the color. And it is only $7.99! This is a fun bold color that will amp up any look. I would recommend wearing a lip liner under this lipstick so that the color doesn't bleed around your lips and it will also make the color last all day. Also, I think that this is a dupe for Mac Media ($16).

          Black Cherry

These are all of the lippies swatched on my arm in natural lighting, starting at the top going to the bottom is Flutter Kiss, Wine & Dine, Outlaw, Kiss Fatal and Black Cherry.

Let me know what your favorite fall lippies are!

Home Goods and Bed Bath and Beyond Haul

Hey Everyone!

Just thought that I would share with you a little haul with you guys. I got married back in April and ended up getting a bunch of gift cards from friends and family, a few to Bed Bath and Beyond and Home Goods. I have always loved both of these stores, but never had the need to buy anything for my home. Now I had an excuse to get lots of cute stuff.

I think that I spent around $150 at Home Goods and I got so much great stuff!!

I got four large DKNY body towels and four matching DKNY face towels, hand towel set, a fuzzy bath mat, shower curtain, curtain hooks, lots of kitchen utensils, a magnetic notepad, yummy smelling soap, a neck pillow (for my future plane ride to Japan), a selfie stick, a woven basket, blank birthday cards and a large calendar for 2016. All of the stuff was around 50% off or more of regular price, which is awesome.

I got the calendar to put all of my families birthdays in so we will never forget to send a card! I also thought it would be nice to put in the calendar when big events are, like the Marine Corps Ball, when my husbands scheduled missions are going to be and when we are going on vacation. Just to keep myself organized and so we have things to look forward to.

I then went to Bed Bath and Beyond. I knew that I wanted to get a Ninja Blender for my husband and I because my parents have one. Once you use a Ninja, you won't want to use anything else, they are AMAZING!! I ended up picking the smaller Ninja, easier for me to ship to Japan. It was regularly $119.99 and I had a coupon for 20% off of a single item. So I ended up getting it for $96! The blender came with lots of extra cups, tops and a cook book.
I also got a Michigan shaped cutting board for $19.99. I thought this was so cute! I wanted to have some Michigan stuff for our home in Japan, and I thought that this board would be perfect to serve a charcuterie board with or just decorate our kitchen. And $20 is a great deal, I saw the same boards sold in Northern Michigan for $50 and $60.

So if you need anything for your home or are newly married, check out Home Goods and Bed Bath and Beyond! You won't regret it :)

P.S. Unfortunately, neither store gives a military discount :( but most of the items at the store are on a deep discount already, it doesn't matter too much

Let me know what cute items you guys have found at these stores

Colourpop Cosmetics Review

So, a few weeks ago, I decided to FINALLY get some Colourpop Cosmetics makeup. It was my birthday, and I had been wanting to try it out for a while and I had a coupon! #treatyourself

First of all, Colourpop is very affordable, $5 for the super shock shadows (eyeshadows), $8 for super shock cheek (blush, bronzer and highlighters), $5 for lippies (lipsticks and lipliner) and $6 for the ultra matte lip (liquid lipsticks). The prices are comparable to Covergirl and NYX. Secondly, the makeup is made in LA and does not test on animals, which I really like.

So most people who review Colourpop on Youtube that I have seen say the formula is a little different, creamy but applies as a powder. When I hear that, not going to lie, I was a little confused and worried. Most cream products that I have used in the past have been most difficult to blend and don't have a lot of staying power. These are so easy to apply! I use my fingers most of the time and maybe a blender brush to blend out. Honestly, I think these are easier to work with than powders, no fallout ever.  And last all day long!

I ordered the makeup on Monday, and received the package on Friday I think, which is not bad!
 California to Michigan!

Side note, the packaging was adorable!
And who doesn't love a handwritten note.

I ended up purchasing the Shaaanxo x Colourpop collaboration eyeshadow set, three eyeshadows, one highlighter and one lippie stick.

The Shaaanxo set was $20 for four eyeshadows, no savings but that's fine with me since the eyeshadows are pretty affordable to begin with. The set included XO, Selfie, Deluxe and Rebel.

  The Set

 XO

Selfie
Rebel

  Deluxe

“XO is perfect for highlighting the inner corner. Rebel is the most amazing Khaki shade It looks gorgeous all over the lid or lower lash line. Deluxe is gorgeous blended all over the lid for a darker bronze smokey eye. Selfie is an amazing transition shade to use in your crease, or all over the lid for a natural sunkissed glow!” – Shaaanxo

The three eyeshadows I purchased were Sour, Get Lucky and Jet.

Sour is a lime green with a satin finish, perfect for a pop of color on the lower lashes.

Jet is a matte almost black, just a little warmer than black.

Get Lucky is AMAZING, it's pretty much a gold foiled shadow. I'm already obsessed.

The highlight I got is Wisp.

Wisp is a golden champagne highlight. I would say it's the "natural everyday" version of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. You can just apply a little bit to the tops of your cheekbones for a subtle glow or pack it on for a more intense glow.

The lippie stick that I purchased was in the shade Lumière, which is also a collaboration with Kathleen Lights. The color is a mauvey rose shade, very wearable! It is matte and lasts for hours!

I am totally in love with this brand and will absolutely be purchasing more in the future! Let me know if any of you guys have tried Colourpop and what you've gotten or any shades that I should get in the future!
